The AllDogs Difference

My name is Steve Howard, and I am the director of the In-Line K9 training program at the AllDogs Canine Care Center. Training dogs is my passion, and you’ll never meet anyone who enjoys it more. I have been a certified dog trainer for several years now, but have worked with and loved dogs my entire life. I am a graduate of the Animal Behavior College and have dedicated my professional career to promoting positive relationships between people and their dogs. There’s absolutely nothing more rewarding to me than taking a dog experiencing behavior problems and helping it become a well-adjusted and well-mannered member of the family.

By making the life-long investment in training, you are helping your dog develop into a loyal, obedient, and well-mannered companion. Training your dog by establishing trust and respect can also overcome and prevent a wide variety of behavior problems. Graduates of the In-Line K9 training program are—without exception—the kind of well-behaved dogs that other people say are a pleasure to be with and have around.

The AllDogs Difference
In-Line K9 group training sessions are held weekly at the AllDogs Canine Care Center; one-hour sessions are typically held over a seven-week period—though longer training programs are available. But those weekly classes are just the beginning. In reality, the work I do with your dog—while important—is a relatively small part of his or her training. I can’t emphasize this enough: you must be willing to devote the time, energy, and consistency to reinforce the lessons we learn together. The two of you will have “homework” assignments to complete between our weekly training sessions, and your dog’s progress depends upon the time and effort you devote to completing them.

The AllDogs Difference
Your decision to help train your dog is a real commitment, but the results you’ll start to see will more than justify the hours you spend to make it happen. By the time you and your dog have completed an In-Line K9 training program, you’ll be amazed at the difference you see in your pet. You’ll have a happy and obedient dog that remains calm, focused, and well-behaved in a wide variety of settings and circumstances.

The AllDogs Difference
The AllDogs Canine Care Center provides an ideal environment for dog training. We offer a safe and distraction-free area in which to enjoy learning together. Our puppy classes are limited to 12 participants, with a maximum of 10 dogs in the adult training sessions. These restricted numbers allow for plenty of one-on-one time for me to work individually with you and your dog.

The AllDogs Difference
My years of experience have taught me how to “read” a dog in order to determine which training methods are most likely to work best with any given animal. In a majority of cases, I am able to use positive reinforcement techniques—although I occasionally supplement with other methods, in the case of particular dogs. My relationship with your dog will be based on mutual respect. And my love and regard for dogs comes through in all our interactions; in addition to the hard work we’ll do, you’ll quickly see that we have fun, too. Bottom line? Your dog will really enjoy the time we spend together.

The AllDogs Difference
Each dog, of course, is different. Some breeds (and some individual dogs) simply “catch on” quicker than others or are more amenable to following commands in general. But assuming you’ve done your part to reinforce the lessons at home, there are some basic skills you can generally expect your dog to have mastered upon completion of basic obedience training through In-Line K9. These include sit, stay, come, down, heel, sit-stay, down-stay.

The AllDogs Difference

Dogs exhibiting problem behaviors are a special interest of mine. Regardless of the severity of the issue, there are ways to modify behaviors. With time, perseverance, and the right training techniques, the vast majority of dogs can be taught to abandon previously learned behaviors and learn new, acceptable ways of behaving. This includes fear-based aggression (toward people or toward other dogs), submissive licking or urination, chewing, excessive barking, separation anxiety, and other unwanted behaviors. Have you met with limited success working with other trainers on your dog’s unwanted behaviors? Are you starting to feel as if the problem is never going to go away? With the exception of a few really extreme cases, I can work with your dog and help you resolve these issues, once and for all. Come in for a consultation and I’ll explain to you how we can tackle the problem behavior together.
